THE BRONX - More than 4,000 American flags have been placed at gravesites at Woodlawn Cemetery in honor of the country's fallen heroes. 

Woodlawn staff and volunteers laid out the flags over the course of several weeks leading up to this Memorial Day. 

A young group of cadets were among those who came out to help with the placing of the flags.
