THROGGS NECK - Drivers in Throggs Neck still have a bumpy ride now that spring has started, thanks to potholes.
Residents say the potholes should have been filled before spring arrived and that it's making driving difficult, especially along East Tremont Avenue. Some drivers tell News 12 The Bronx they've already had to deal with flat tires and broken rims, setting them back hundreds of dollars.
Department of Transportation Commissioner Polly Trottenberg says crews are out every day filling potholes, but it's taking time because of the harsh winter. Trottenberg says more than 250,000 potholes have already been filled citywide.
