‘Too Young To Wed’ photo exhibit at Bronx Documentary Center spotlights young marriage

A new exhibit in the Bronx exposes the harsh tradition of child marriages around the world.

THE BRONX - A new exhibit in the Bronx exposes the harsh tradition of child marriages around the world.

"Too Young To Wed," an exhibit at the Bronx Documentary Center, features photographs that call attention to many young girls who have been affected by the tradition.

Stephanie Sinclair photographed the young girls throughout the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

One of her photos depicts a 15-year-old girl who was stabbed by her husband for disobeying him. He was not charged with any crime. Another image shows a girl who was married to her 25-year-old husband at 6 years old.

The exhibit will be on display until March 16. Admission is free.
