THE BRONX - Residents at the Tracey Towers may have to dig deeper into their wallets for rent.

Angry tenants filed into a community board room last night to talk to management about a proposed rent increase. Tenants say they leaky ceilings and unreliable hot water are just some of the many problems that plague the building. Many say a high rent increase doesn't justify the standard of living.

However, building management says they can't make the needed repairs without having the cash to pay for it first. Management says it will discuss possible options with the city housing authority as well as tenants to work out a solution.
