THROGS NECK - Throgs Neck residents are excited about new shopping complexes along the Hutchinson River Parkway, but they're worried about additional traffic congestion.

The developer behind a Target shopping complex says he has come out with a traffic study in hopes of easing traffic. He says he hopes the city will do the same.

State Sen. Jeffery Klein said that he is working with the Department of City Planning to conduct a traffic study.

“I believe that by working together on this project, we will be able to ensure that the impact on traffic flow from these development are minimal,” said Klein in a written statement.

The shopping center will open in spring 2014.
