THE BRONX - News 12 The Bronx took a tour of the trauma centers at Saint Barnabas Hospital to make sure they are well prepared to handle an incident such as the recent bombing in Boston.

Officials say the trauma center is staffed with several trauma doctors 24 hours a day. The doctors are trained to handle everything from a gunshot wound to an amputation.

The Saint Barnabas Trauma Unit has also been given the title of "Level One" trauma center, which is a designation given only to those with the largest number of medical capabilities.

Doctors involved with the trauma center say that they undergo simulation training on a regular basis to make sure they are always ready in the case of an emergency.
