Tree branch snaps and pulls down power lines

THE BRONX - A tree branch on one Bronx street snapped off and pulled down power lines on Thursday afternoon.

Although no one was injured, residents on Stadium Avenue in Country Club believe it's only a matter of time. Branches are coming down because nobody has taken the responsibility of trimming them.

Con Ed says that the responsibility of pruning the trees lies with either the city or the homeowner.

Neighbors, meanwhile, are calling on the city to prune the community's overgrown trees.

The Department of Parks and Recreation says a representative inspected the area and found there is no reason to remove trees on Stadium Avenue.
