BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police say Gregory Francilme, the teenager killed in the city's latest homicide, would have turned 19 years old Monday.

The fatal shooting occurred on Bretton Street Saturday outside an apartment complex near Blackham School. Police say another teenager was also shot, but had surgery and is expected to survive.

Detectives say they spent much of the weekend investigating and say they hope to have the gunman in custody soon.

They say they are still investigating the motive behind the city's sixth murder of the year.

City Councilwoman Michelle Lyons says she was shocked to hear about the shooting.

"We are already working on a plan of increasing more police activity," says Lyons.

She is also planning a public safety meeting in wake of the recent violence.

Many of the victim's friends and family members stopped by the scene Monday to pay their respects.
