CO-OP CITY - Hundreds of students were outside smiling for a good cause today, in honor of National Smile Day.

Students from the Bronx stepped outside to help raise money for kids in need by simply smiling.

The students are part of the after-school program, Project BOOST, which encourages students to get involved. Today students helped raise money for Smile Train, an organization which provides free cleft-lip and palate surgery to poor children in developing countries.

Carl Vinci, the director of Project BOOST, says his crews have raised $35,000 in four years, which has provided surgery for 144 babies across the world.
