THE BRONX - The number of people who call the Bronx their home is on the rise.

According to figures from the U.S. Census Bureau, the city’s population has risen by more than 161,000 people since 2010, and that increase is being felt in the borough.

Real estate experts say affordable housing is helping to boost the borough's population, especially in Pelham Gardens, Throgs Neck, Morris Park and Baychester. They also credit an improving family image of the Bronx and easy access to public transportation.
