THE BRONX - The postman will be a welcome sight today at a building where Bronx tenants spent eight months without receiving their mail.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Postal Service says broken mailboxes at the Patterson Houses on East 145th Street have been repaired and inspected, and can now accept deliveries again.

Residents complain that they've had to walk more than a mile in order to pick up their mail from the Grand Concourse Post Office since last October.

The New York City Housing Authority says that the mailboxes had been fixed more than two months ago.
