THE BRONX - Residents in one Bronx community say they're worried that a stretch of uneven sidewalk near a bus stop in the neighborhood is an accident waiting to happen.

News 12 The Bronx visited the spot on 167th Street near Morris Avenue and found that it's noticeably uneven where the sidewalk meets the street. The curb is spray-painted where the sidewalk slants down, but there is no clear indication that pedestrians have to step up.

The spot is right near the Bx35 bus stop, and residents say that makes matters worse. Playing children could overlook the step and fall into the street, and possibly get hit by a passing vehicle, neighbors say.

News 12 The Bronx has reached out to Community Board 4 about the sidewalk. It says it will look into the issue today.
