University Heights tenants endure sweltering heat without power

THE BRONX - More than 100 people in University Heights are enduring sweltering temperatures without electricity.

Con Edison emergency crews are working to restore power to tenants on University Avenue who say they haven't been able to turn on a fan or air conditioner since last night. Many also complain that they have to climb several flights of stairs in the heat because the elevators are out.

Crews say they've been on the scene since 1 a.m., but aren't sure when the outages will be fixed.
