USPS phishing scam targets Bronx woman

RIVERDALE - A Bronx woman is bringing attention to an apparent phishing scheme that targets people by email seeking money for the United States Postal Service.

Marlene Cuperman says she received an email stating a package of hers had been intercepted by the postal service, and $218 was needed for Cuperman to get the package.

Cuperman says she contacted her local congressman, Rep. Eliot Engel (D-The Bronx), who immediately reached out the postal service.

Investigators from the Postal Inspection Service think there are multiple scammers sending out the email and they're attempting to shut them down one by one.
