Valhalla Drive residents blast draining system

THE BRONX - Neighbors on a Country Club block say they face issues every time it rains due to a faulty draining system.

One resident says contractors hired by the Department of Environmental Protection paved the blacktop on Valhalla Drive too high, blocking the water to the drain. The blockage creates a standing pool of water that attracts mosquitoes and creates other issues.

News 12 The Bronx contacted the DEP, which said it sent contractors to fix the problem Thursday. Neighbors say the job was shoddy and the DEP says it will investigate the issue.
