THE BRONX - Van Cortlandt Park has landed a slam dunk in renovations.

Bronx students and lawmakers broke ground on a $162,000 renovation project to install new asphalt basketball courts, backboards, court lines and benches near Gouverneur Avenue.

The Courts of Dreams Foundation helped pay for the upgrade. Officials say it should be ready in the next couple of months.
