THE BRONX - A Bronx senior center in danger of closing its doors has been saved by a new tenant.

The Mosholu Montefiore Center signed a lease to occupy the second and third floors of the Van Cortlandt Jewish Center at 38-80 Sedgwick Ave.

Plans are in place to bring an early childhood education program to the building for 130 pre-school children.

The Jewish Center was struggling financially since the Department of Education moved out of the rented space in September 2012.

Construction for the pre-school space is expected to begin in the next few weeks and be completed before September.
