THE BRONX - The MTA is trying to put a stop to a MetroCard scheme plaguing a Bronx subway stop.

According to transportation officials, vandals are jamming the MetroCard machines at the 149th Street and 3rd Avenue station, and then selling illegal swipes to commuters.

They say that riders are left with the options of standing on a long line to buy their fares from a station agent or quickly paying the group of young men to illegally swipe them in.

The MTA says it keeps sending technicians to fix the machines, including one who had to return four times in one day.
