THE BRONX - Extra police were called to Exterior Street this morning after a Verizon protest got out-of-control.

Protesters began harassing a van full of workers who were filling in for their shifts. Strikers hovered over cars and put posters over the windshields.

Verizon workers began protesting after their contract expired this weekend. Unions who are protesting say the company is asking for $20,000 in give-backs from each worker, including having workers contribute to their health insurance.
