Veterans, canine companions honored in The Bronx

THE BRONX - A group of veterans and canine companions were honored in the Bronx, one week ahead of Veterans Day.

The celebration included the organization Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities, which provides service dogs to vets who struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder.

One of the dogs, who goes by the name Blip, made a special appearance and was given an award for his services. Many of the vets said the canines play a major role in their lives.

The event was sponsored by the Bronx Chamber of Commerce.
