Victim of Bruckner Expressway crash mourned

MOTT HAVEN - Family members, friends and neighbors are mourning the death of a Bronx woman who was killed in a Bruckner Expressway accident Friday.

Loved ones say Suejas Estrada was a happy, friendly person who loved her community. Police say Estrada, 30, swerved to avoid debris in the road on the elevated portion of the Bruckner Expressway near the Sheridan Expressway when she hit a U.S. Postal Service truck. Authorities say she was thrown from her SUV and killed.

Former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw and his wife were also involved in the accident but were not injured. He says Estrada swerved to avoid a spool of cable on the road.

A neighbor says he will put up a memorial in Estrada's honor.
