THE BRONX - Police have released video that appears to show a driver backing his car into a woman before taking off.

The incident occurred Aug. 19 on Jackson Avenue. Police say a 51-year-old woman was crossing the street at around 10:30 a.m. when the car backed up and struck her, knocking her to the ground.

In the video, the driver appears to exit the vehicle and makes a phone call. He stands there for some time before getting back into the vehicle and leaving the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a black male who was last seen wearing brown cargo shorts, a gray tank top and white sneakers. He drives a gray Honda.
