THE BRONX - Family and supporters of a boy who was killed by a stray bullet on Easter Sunday seven years ago held a vigil today at the corner where he was shot in Morris Heights.
For the fourth consecutive year, a group gathered at the corner on West Tremont Avenue to pay their respects to 2-year-old David Pacheco Jr. Family members say he was dressed in his Easter best when he was fatally struck by a bullet.
The men accused in his death, Nicholas Morris and Ronneil Gilliam, were both acquitted in 2008. Morris spoke with News 12 Brooklyn to tell his side of the story before turning himself in to police.
Family and supporters say they hope to hold a larger rally against gun violence this summer.
