THE BRONX - Spring is coming, and that means asthma and allergy flare-ups for many people, but there are ways to ease symptoms at home.
Wolfgang Tarnowski is a registered nurse with the VNSNY CHOICE program, which helps patients go beyond medication and prepare their homes to ward off potential allergens.
Tarnowski says that while spring cleaning, you should use a wet rag instead of a duster, or you'll just be moving dust around. Cleansers can be respiratory irritants too, so he recommends diluting them before use.
Homeowners should also do their best to ward off mildew and mold, especially in the bathroom, as they can set off asthma.
