Volunteers at BX community farm worried after string of robberies

Volunteers say that they are worried for their safety after La Finca del Sur, a women-run community farm in the South Bronx, has been robbed

THE BRONX - Volunteers say that they are worried for their safety after La Finca del Sur, a women-run community farm in the South Bronx, has been robbed multiple times in the past few weeks.

"They stole basically everything of value that they could carry; we had a generator, we had power tools, we had weed eaters and lawn mowers," says Annie Moss.

Workers there say that the robberies could be avoided if the city would repair one of its fences by the property, however, the Department of Parks and Recreation says there is no guarantee of it occurring.
