KINGSBRIDGE - Community Board 8 says the vote to determine the future location of a methadone clinic was postponed to next Wednesday.

Currently, residents at the nursing home in Kingsbridge must be bused to Yonkers several times a week if they receive methadone treatments. Now, workers at Terrace Healthcare and St. Joseph's hospital are pushing to open clinic space inside the nursing home.

Although cutting out the current bus system would save the state around $150,000 in transportation costs, some residents are angry over the proposal. Their main concern is safety, specifically of the many schools in the area.

Proponents of the idea believe it is irrelevant, as the patients are already living in the home.
