Voters encounter chaos, confusion at polling sites

THE BRONX - Getting to polling stations and casting ballots was not an easy feat yesterday for many Bronx residents.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order Monday allowing voters displaced by Superstorm Sandy to cast their ballots at any location. Cuomo's goal was to ensure that residents of affected areas would still be able to vote.

Many say the executive order led to chaos at the polling places that were open. Bronx residents encountered long lines, a lack of supplies and confusion over the affidavits.

New York City Board of Elections Commissioner Juan Carlos 'JC' Polanco says the board did the best it could given the short notice of Cuomo's executive order.
