Wake held for toddler who fell from window

THE BRONX - Family and friends attended the wake tonight of a toddler who fell from an apartment window this past Saturday.

Officials say 3-year-old Gabriel Estevez fell from a fourth-floor apartment on East 161st Street while playing with his 11-year-old brother.

Neighbors say the apartment belonged to the building's superintendent. Reports say the mother asked the superintendent to watch her child.

Many paid their respects tonight at the Ortiz Funeral Home in Longwood. The child will be flown to the Dominican Republic tomorrow for the funeral.
