Wake services held for 3-year-old BX girl

THE BRONX - Wake services were held at McCall's Funeral Home today for 3-year-old India Durant.

Police say India was found unconscious on Wednesday while she was under the care of her mother's boyfriend, 27-year-old Kenneth Williams. She later died at St. Barnabas Hospital.

The medical examiner has ruled her death a homicide due to blunt force trauma to her torso and severe internal injuries.

On Friday, police arrested Williams in connection with India's death and have charged him with second-degree murder, manslaughter and reckless endangerment.

A funeral service and burial is set for tomorrow morning.
