THE BRONX - The Wakefield community is getting back on its feet two months after a five-alarm fire wiped out an entire block.

At least 10 businesses burned to the ground between East 225th and 226th streets, but Councilman Andy King says they've come a long way since then.

According to King, businesses are back up and running again, but many were forced to either relocate or are sharing space with other shops.

King also says he plans on meeting with the commissioner of the Small Business Association soon to discuss future plans for the ravaged block.
