Water back on after Grand Concourse main break

THE BRONX - Officials say about 250 people were without water for much of this evening after a water main broke.

Officials say water gushed more than 25 feet in the air at East 161st Street and Walton Avenue. According to officials, a construction worker may have hit a water main.

Witnesses say a deli was flooded and many other businesses were forced to cope without water for the night.

Field operators from the Department of Environmental Protection say they will work through Friday to repair the damage.
