THE BRONX - A water main break brought part of Wakefield to a standstill early Monday.
The break happened at the intersection of Webster and Nereid avenues, flooding the entire block around 240th Street at around 5 a.m.
Fire officials and the NYPD blocked off the area, and the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) also rushed to the scene.
It's not yet clear what led to the burst.
