Water main break floods Wakefield streets at Webster and Nereid avenues

THE BRONX - A water main break brought part of Wakefield to a standstill early Monday.

The break happened at the intersection of Webster and Nereid avenues, flooding the entire block around 240th Street at around 5 a.m.

Fire officials and the NYPD blocked off the area, and the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) also rushed to the scene.

It's not yet clear what led to the burst.
