Webster Ave. rezoning plan worries small business owners

THE BRONX - A new rezoning project has many Bronx business owners along Webster Avenue worried that they may be forced to move.

The Department of City Planning, along with Community Board 7, says the plan is to improve the commercial corridor while keeping the character of the residential blocks. However, many mom-and-pop shops say the changes will make it hard for them to survive.

Other local residents support the prospect of new businesses in the area. They say more options could bring in new customers and be beneficial for everyone.
