THE BRONX - Residents driving through the Bronx this weekend will want to get out early to avoid traffic, due to some construction projects on the roads and rails.

The Major Deegan Expressway will have a lane of construction blocked in both directions approaching the Cross Bronx Expressway, and during the overnight hours the Deegan will be subject to a full closure of up to 15 minutes.

Also, the Alexander Hamilton Bridge will have repairs in both directions during the overnight hours this weekend closing two lanes each way. This may cause problems for those trying to leave early to head out on George Washington Bridge.

Alternate side of the street parking rules will be in effect this weekend.

On mass transit there will be a lot of weekend track work affecting the Bronx. The Woodlawn-bound 4 trains and the Dyre Avenue-bound 5 trains will skip the 138th Street Grand Concourse Station.
