THE BRONX - Welding sparks are to blame for a massive fire that broke out at the Hunts Point Terminal Market last week.

Fire marshals say that builders were not following proper FDNY guidelines when the four-alarm blaze broke out.

Nearly 200 firefighters responded to the affected warehouse, which belongs to Mendez International Tropical, and 12 were sent to the hospital.

Deliveries were delayed for up to four hours because of the fire, but other vendors were eventually able to resume work once the smoke had cleared.
