THE BRONX - Dozens of tenants are banding together in the West Bronx in a fight against their landlord.

Residents of 1230 Franklin Ave. are in one of 42 buildings owned by Colonial Management that are under foreclosure. Tenants say the company is denying the foreclosures and not maintaining its properties.

The tenants complain of problems including rats, mold, no heat and broken elevators.

Representatives from the Urban Homesteading Assistance Board, along with Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson, will be helping tenants through their campaign in hopes of getting them a new landlord.
