West Farms rezoning plan gets final approval

THE BRONX - A plan to transform a dilapidated strip of West Farms Road has received final rezoning approval.

Developers say a complex of 10 buildings will be going up. The property will include retail space and more than 1,300 apartments, half of which will be built as affordable housing units.

The community is excited for the major makeover, especially since the retail space is expected to create an estimated 400 permanent jobs.

Construction is expected to be completed in the next seven years.
