THE BRONX - Store owners in Westchester Square say the combination of a slow economy and a parking shortage is ruining their businesses.

Bob Doyle, owner of Doyle's Pub, says NYPD traffic officials park their personal vehicles in metered spaces near his pub and it is causing him to lose money.

The merchants association says the spaces belong to NYPD traffic agents. They say that is why they are not required to pay the meter and aren't ticketed.

Doyle says it has already cost him 33 percent of his business and he may have no choice but to close.
