THE BRONX - A new Western Beef supermarket is coming to Soundview, but some of the construction noise is a problem for those living nearby.

Nayda Miranda lives behind the site currently under construction. She says the generator on Bruckner Boulevard turned on Tuesday morning and stayed on all day and night until early Thursday morning.

"We are excited for the supermarket to be up and running and everything like that, but since this generator has been up for the last 48 hours, we have not been able to sleep," Miranda says.

Miranda says residents are OK with construction during the day, but the noise at night is the issue.

"It sounds like an airport," she adds.  "It is so loud in the middle of the night."

The construction isn't expected to be completed until the end of the month.
