Wet weather drenches borough

THE BRONX - The heavy rain and wind that drenched the borough today is expected to continue, bringing some 3-4 inches of rain through Wednesday.

The downpour left many sidewalks and streets flooded, including Metcalf Avenue. On Pelham Parkway, wet conditions forced many drivers to take it slow on their way home tonight.

Many residents said the worst part about the wet weather is the fierce winds, but they said they tried to take it in stride.

The storm system will move out of the area by this weekend, leaving sunny skies and temperatures above 70 degrees.
