BRIDGEPORT - This week's "What's Ailing You" looks at what kind of medicine could be taken for pain besides Oxycontin and ibuprofen.
Doctor Joseph Feuerstein says ginger and turmeric, both used in higher doses, act as an anti-inflammatory to reduce swelling and pain. He also suggests using acupuncture, especially for joint pain.
"There are actual classical acupuncture points in the knee and a reasonably good amount of research to suggest that this will help with pain and inflammations," Feuerstein said.
