White House: NY transit security funds actually up

NEW YORK - (AP) - Mayor Michael Bloomberg says he has spoken toWhite House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel about concerns over NewYork City's security funding.

Bloomberg said Thursday that Emanuel was committed to workingwith the city.

The Obama administration says total federal funding for thecity's mass transit and port security is actually going up.

The White House is countering lawmakers' claims that HomelandSecurity plans to chop funding less than two weeks after the TimesSquare car bombing attempt.
