THE BRONX - Wicked winds and bitter blasts swept through the borough Tuesday with temperatures reaching dangerously cold levels.

Experts say the key to keeping cold air from creeping in is to winterize your home beginning with insulation kits in your attic and basement where the airflow is heaviest. They say winterizing will actually save you money in the long run by lowering your heating bills. Experts also recommend space heaters to warm small areas more efficiently.
