Winds cause Bronx construction wall to crumble

PELHAM PARKWAY - A Boston Road construction site was knocked down and blown around by the storm Saturday, causing bricks to fall and hit people and cars.

Residents say dozens of bricks rained down from a construction wall at 2241 Boston Rd. injuring two people and damaging several vehicles at Freddy's car dealership next door.

According to neighbors, the building has been under construction for about two years. There are currently 21 active complaints against the site, the Department of Buildings says.

Local shop owners say it was only a matter of time before part of the wall collapsed.
