Winter blast heats up business for some BX companies

THE BRONX - The recent blizzard became a nightmare for residents across the Bronx, but it's also been a business boost for many snow removal and towing companies.

Ritchie Nickol, of American Fencing Services, says he's been working nonstop since Sunday's storm and making profits upward of $25,000. J & J Towing says it has also been busy rescuing cars stuck in the snow banks.

One local snowplower says that as Mayor Michael Bloomberg calls on private contractors to help clear the roadways, he's received more than 70 requests to remove mounds of snow.
