Woman accused of stealing soap, attacking beauty supply store employees on East 174th Street in the Bronx

A woman accused of stealing soap from a Bronx beauty salon attacked store employees when confronted, according to police.

THE BRONX - A woman accused of stealing soap from a Bronx beauty store attacked an employee when confronted, according to police. 

It happened on Friday at the Beauty & Nail Salon on 961 East 174th St. around 6:20 p.m.

Police say the woman walked into the store and removed two Dove body wash soaps from the shelf and placed them into her bag. 

Once confronted by an employee, police say the woman scratched and punched her way out of the store and ran away.

She is described as being approximately 5'6" tall, 170 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair with a pony tail and was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt with cartoon characters on front of it, blue jeans, black sneakers with white bottoms and was carrying a black book bag and a shopping bag.

Police say the store employee refused medical treatment at the scene.
