Woman battles to keep her Bronx home

THE BRONX - A woman who has been battling Bank of America to keep her Bronx home may soon see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Edda Lopez renegotiated her mortgage last August with Wilshire Credit Corporation, but once the loan was transferred to Bank of America, something got lost in translation.

The lender says it never saw the paperwork with Lopez's approved modification, so it foreclosed on her home and planned to sell it this month.

Bank of America tells News 12 The Bronx they have since postponed the foreclosure sale of her home and it is looking over her application. With the support of her friends and attorney, Lopez is hopeful she'll get approved.
