Woman fatally shot in car in Fordham

A woman was fatally shot at point-blank range as she sat inside a vehicle in Fordham Sunday morning.

THE BRONX - Police are searching for the person who shot and killed a mother of four Sunday morning.

Officials have identified the victim as 26-year-old Jennifer Ortiz. They say that Ortiz was inside a beige Chevrolet vehicle on East 191st Street at Morris Avenue at around 7:30 a.m. when she was shot in the head.

News 12 has learned from police that Ortiz's husband, Amauri Perdomo, is a suspect.

Witnesses say they saw the woman in the passenger's seat with a man in the car next to her when another man approached them and started an argument.

Police say they are looking for Perdomo, who has brown eyes, black hair and is six feet tall.

No arrests have been made yet as their investigation continues.
