Woman fights back during alleged rape attempt

THE BRONX - Police are looking for the man who allegedly attempted to rape a woman near East 174th Street.

According to police, the suspect approached the 29-year-old woman from behind as she was entering a building.

They say he pushed her into the building's lobby, covered her mouth and groped her under her clothes, which he attempted to remove.

The woman resisted and suffered scratches to her face.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s. He stands around 5 foot 5 and weighs 180 pounds, police say.

No arrests have been made.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them.
