Woman struck, killed by 5 line subway train in Melrose

It happened at the 3rd Avenue and 149th Street station.

THE BRONX - A woman is dead after being struck by a subway train in Melrose. 

It happened during the morning rush at the 5 line station on 3rd Avenue and 149th Street. 

Officials say the victim, believed to be in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Authorities cordoned off the station for their investigation, but it remains unclear how she ended up on the tracks.
